ARE YOU A HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR INTERESTED IN EARNING THE SCHOLAR DESIGNATION ON YOUR DIPLOMA?

The Scholar Designation on a high school diploma is meant to indicate that the student has taken college preparatory classes. The Scholar Designation is awarded to students who pass all EOCs and take extra classes such as Algebra II, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, 2 credits in the same foreign language, and an AP, IB, AICE, or DE course. It is not mandatory, and only for those interested.

We are currently in the process of identifying students who would like to sit for either the Geometry EOC, Biology EOC and/or the US History EOC to meet the requirements for the Scholar Designation. We will be administering these assessments in December. You must have already taken the class BUT NOT THE EOC assessment to register. For example:

  • You cannot register for the Geometry EOC, if you have not taken the class yet.
  • You also cannot register if you already took the Geometry class AND already took the EOC.
  • You can register if you took Geometry but never took the EOC.
You can find more information regarding the requirements at the following link:  http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=1000-1099/1003/Sections/1003.4285.html

The attached document has more information and the link to register for the exams. The form is due November 29, 2021.
