Mater Lakes Cross Country Team Exceeds Expectations all Season

On November 5th, 2022, Mater Lakes Academy’s Cross-Country team placed 4th out of 32 teams in Class 2A for the state competition at FSU. With all classes combined the team placed 20th out of approximately 128 teams. There were also two of our competitors that received medals in the top 15 Jeshua Osorio (10th) and Sebastian Corapse (14th). This win is a huge success for the team. This qualification for states came from an amazing success throughout the season. On October 18th, in South Country Regional Park, the team placed first place in districts against 20 other teams. This win provided the cross-country team with two districts titles in MLA history. Seven out of our 10 boys advanced to regionals. In addition, Isabella Fernandez, runner from the girl’s team, advanced to regionals as an individual. Then, at regionals, the MLA cross country team placed first place on October 27th, 2022, and Isabella got 6th place. The team was thrilled to have conquered districts, regionals, and advance to states. They did an amazing job, and MLA is beyond proud of their 2022 season success.
